A comparative analysis of financial performance of Islamic banks vis-à-vis conventional banks: evidence from Pakistan

Purpose In recent years, the fast growth of Islamic banks (IBs) has generated debates among policymakers and economists about sustainability performance these institutions. This paper aims to undertake a comparative analysis financial IBs conventional (CBs) in Pakistan over period 2008–2019 evaluate how are faring compared their peers. Design/methodology/approach considers Financial Ratio Analysis (FRA) analyse compare top-10 CBs operating Pakistan. The sample includes five full-fledged which offer windows top-five performing offering have been selected this study.
